What is Polyuria?

Polyuria is the medical term for excessive urination. It's common problem in undiagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes.

If you are peeing a lot more than usual, especially at night, a trip to your doctor or practice nurse will get to the root of the cause.

It's especially important to get checked out if you are experiencing any of the other common symptoms of diabetes such as an unquenchable thirst or feeling tired all of the time.

I know that the possibility of being diagnosed diabetic can be daunting but the sooner you begin treatment the better. Early diagnosis will minimise the risk of later complications.

If you are diagnosed with diabetes, the correct medication and good control of your blood sugar levels should soon sort out the constant trips to the toilet.
